Part II: Types of Websites

There are millions of websites on the Internet ranging from autobiographical to one with just photographs on them and no words. The ones I want to concentrate on today are focused on business and E-Commerce.

What is E-Commerce?

E-Commerce stands for “Electronic Commerce”. This is when a website sells you something ranging from products you can actually touch and use to “virtual” products such as songs, electronic books and coaching tips from an individual. E-Commerce is how one makes money selling a product on the Internet directly to the consumer.

You know many examples such as Amazon.com or eBay.com. There are many smaller businesses that sell everything from clothing to tools to bicycles. Heck you can even buy a car online now! I know I couldn’t have imagined that back in the 1980’s when I was a kid.

Business sites don’t always necessarily sell you something. Sometimes they exist just to explain what a company is, their goals and how they can best serve you. Then they provide ways to contact them so that you can get more information from a live human being. Business websites need dynamic content that includes images, video and most of all blogs or strong statements that make you the visitor to the website, want to engage with them further. Business websites should strive to be an expert in their field so that you the visitor to that website feel confident in using their services.

We at Ursinet love to help out businesses of all kinds to get the best website they can have that represent them in their best light and potential. We want their voice to be strong because there is so much clutter and noise on the Internet that you need to be able to stand out and attract the right type of client to your business.
